Any time I find myself going to the beach there are many things that I feel compelled to do. None of which require baking in the sun while my sensitive skin gets sunburned. Many of my friends seem to love just laying on their back and soaking in the rays, but after a while, that becomes not so fun for many of us.

The following are some of my favorite activities to partake in when I am at the beach.

One great thing you can do is take a walk down the beach. Whether it is by yourself, with a significant other, or your children, walking down the beach is an incredibly relaxing, yet decent way of getting exercise, while you take in the scenery surrounding you.

If you are an adventurous person, a fun option is to rent a jet ski or wave runner for the day. Wave runners in particular are incredibly fun and will give you a boost of adrenaline while shredding the waves. If this is too extreme for you, you can always get a paddle boat or try to take a windsurfing lesson.

If you are in a tropical area, chances are there is a banana boat near by. I have incredibly fond memories of being a young child and going on a banana boat in the Caribbean. The fact that these tube rides are still around lets you know that kids still love them.

Another entertaining activity at the beach is to take a nice stroll. Regardless of whether it is with your child, loved one, or by yourself, there is always entertaining people watching to be had at the beach.

It never hurts to bring music to the beach. Some good beach tunes include any type of reggae music or mellow acoustic music. Some of my favorites of the latter at the moment include any Jack Johnson or Kings Of Convenience album. If you are going to be at the beach, may as well make yourself comfortable with good music.
